i saw an old kevin costner movie on cinemax twice kanina. omg i almost cried. hahaha i wanna watch it again! i wanna buy a dvd (pirated lang. i don't have money.) kaso i don't know the title. *sigh* can anyone tell me pls!? it also has clint eastwood in it and this really cute kid. i think he's also the kid in "almost famous" and elliot in "will and grace" and the gay kid in "gross pointe". but he's so young pa then in the kevin costner movie so i can't tell if he really is the kid in the said movies. i think the movie's from the early 90's. basta kevin costner's name is butch and he's some sort of a bandit. ayun...hehehe

for those not familiar with master RA's work, they include the cult TV show Strange Brew; music videos for Mojofly (Sa Uulitin), Drip (Song No. 9), Ciudad (Make It Slow), Ghost 13 (Galit Sa Akin + Basura), Soapdish (Ewan Ko);and cult shorts like Chicken Soup 2, It's Raining Aren't They and One Sip At A Time. i would like to think of myself as the unofficial president of the R.A. Rivera Fun Club and his first fan (having bowed at his feet during the Mowelfund screening of Chicken Soup 2 back in 1998), and R.A. since i know you read this once in a blue moon (although you may not anymore since your phone got stolen in the internet cafe) once again i'd like to say i couldn't be prouder of your triumph last Thursday. to those who were in the event, we were the guys who were acting like epileptics at the rightmost side by the front of the stage everytime RA's name was announced.

I actually missed the best thing, having walked out after best video to go to our gig. it was only when Marie, our drummer who was also nominated as best director got to Saguijo that I found out what I missed...

MARIE: did you see what Marc did?
ME: what?
MARIE: oh my God you didn't see that?
ME: i left eh. what happened?
MARIE: he spat on his face!
ME: whaat?!
MARIE: he spat on his own face!
ME: holy fuck!
MARIE: yeah, he was singing onstage and acting all maangas so he spat in the air and then it landed on his face.
ME: putangina.

later on Diego, yet another nominee for best director, arrives at the gig....

DIEGO: POO TANG INA ALAM MO YUNG NANGYARI KANINA? KRAYZILY! HINDI KA MANINIWALA...
ME: oo nga eh. sinabi sa akin ni Marie kanina.
DIEGO: wild! at dalawang beses ha!
ME: Oh my God; two times!?!
DIEGO: tapos yung second time ang solid eh. parang silver bullet. gob of spit talaga. grabe.

yes i still slap myself in the face for missing that. if anyone from MTV reads this please don't cut that out when you air it.

other things of note during last Thursday's Pilipinas awards...

• Gary V is still the man and Sugar Free did a good job of covering 'Di Bale Na Lang' and 'Heto Nanaman' even though Ebe forgot the lyrics of the former.
  
• for some strange reason Gino de la Paz and I kept texting each other the whole night trying to figure out if the people who went onstage were gay or not.
  
• _she_can_read and i were on the verge of tears during The Late Isabel's speech about indie videos.
  
• HALE* AND artofvalidation's all-time faves CUESHE PERFORMED ONSTAGE TOGETHER! holy moley!i almost wet my pants! and KC introduced their set by giving a definition of Pogi Rock. whoever wrote the show's script is a genius. does anyone have a pic of what Cueshe was wearing that night? brilliant! 'truly madly crazily' guy was wearing a trenchcoat and 'if you stay i'll understand' guy had A BADGE ON HIS CROTCH. to quote GVSB, "amazing! sensational!"
  
• -and then to cap it all off they both do a rendition of Pogi Rock Legend AFTERIMAGE's "we are next in line" and Champ was actually hanging his head in shame ( i swear i have never seen him so wistful). the poor guy was wencing while playing the chords (wencing... get it? wency cornejo? no? fuck you.)
  
• Mitch said he saw Cueshe backstage and asked them if they were ok. and they said (well, according to Mitch) "siguro inaapi kami dahil mga Jeepney driver lang kami" whaat? are they inventing this whole 'jeepney driver' background to make people guilty about hating them?

* for the record, i bear no dislike for Hale. i actually really like The Day You Said Goodnight and will probably borrow the CD from Mitch one of these days. however, Cueshe is a different story altogether
